Will the LCD screen burn out? Will the LCD screen hurt my eyes?

LCD screens do not suffer screen burn-in, while OLED screens do.

The phenomenon of screen burn-in refers to the gradual attenuation of each pixel on the mobile phone screen. Since the LCD requires the support of a backlight when displaying, and the light has to pass through two layers of glass and a substrate as well as various optical films, alignment films, and color filters to produce polarized light, there will inevitably be losses in brightness and color. Therefore, the LCD The non-self-illuminating display principle prevents screen burn-in.

Due to the self-luminous principle of OLED, it does not require backlight support and is self-luminous. It also has the advantages of wide viewing angle, high contrast, low power consumption, high response rate, full color, and simple manufacturing process. However, due to its self-illumination, which consumes the original display components, screen burn-in may occur.

It is difficult to achieve the "screen burn-in phenomenon". According to the test results of previous foreign testers, the iPhone X screen burn-in phenomenon will not occur until at least 510 hours of displaying the same image at maximum brightness. According to Apple officials, iPhone X screen burn-in is not a malfunction but a normal behavior. OLED screen burn-in is unavoidable for the time being.

Although LCD custom does not suffer from screen burn-in, because LCD has a backlight layer and a liquid crystal layer, its thickness is much thicker than OLED. For mobile phone products, if you want to make it thinner and lighter, mini OLED display is indispensable. . In addition, segment LCD cannot be bent, while OLED screens can be bent at will.

Does LCD screen hurt eyes?

LCD screens are hard on the eyes.

The reason why the LCD screen hurts the eyes: Because the LCD screen does not emit light by itself, the LCD screen uses a blue LED backlight panel, which is covered with red filters, green filters and colorless filters. When blue light passes through Three kinds of filters form the RGB three primary colors. However, blue light cannot be completely absorbed by the filter. It will penetrate the screen and form short-wave blue light, which can cause damage to human eyes when exposed to it for a long time and at close range.

LCD display is a traditional liquid crystal display using CCFL backlight.
