Principle of capacitive touch screen and what is the difference between capacitive touch screen and resistive touch screen part one
Mar 05, 2024
Capacitive touch screen and resistive touch screen are two common touch screen technologies. They are very different in principle, structure and application. The following will introduce the principle, structure and characteristics of capacitive touch screens in detail, and conduct a comparative analysis with resistive touch screens.
1. Principle of capacitive touch screen
Capacitive touch TFT screen is a technology that uses human body charge or capacitance changes of other conductors to achieve touch positioning. The basic principle is to use the electric field formed by the transparent conductive layer on the touch panel. When the human body or other conductive objects come into contact with the touch panel, the electric field distribution will change and be sensed, thereby calculating the touch coordinates.
Specifically, the capacitive touch screen is composed of glass, transparent conductive layer, coating insulating layer, etc. The transparent conductive layer can be materials such as silver nanowire mesh, ITO film or grid structure. Electrode sensors are provided at the four corners or edges of the touch panel. They convert changes in the electric field into electrical signals through scanning, and then process them to finally determine the coordinate position of the touch.
