IPS screen disadvantages
There are advantages and disadvantages, so what are the disadvantages of iPS screens?
Because the IPS tft module adopts the horizontal liquid crystal molecule arrangement, it increases the viewing angle while reducing the light penetration. In order to better display bright colors, it is necessary to increase the luminosity of the backlight. Therefore, light leakage is extremely common in IPS screens. With the increase of the screen, the problem of large-area edge light leakage has always been criticized by IPS.
Because the IPS screen cannot improve the penetration and the improvement of the backlight also makes it lose the competitive advantage of high contrast, the static contrast ratio of the general IPS is between 2000:1 and 3000:1. The static contrast ratio of the AV screen can easily reach 5000:1, so the contrast is not high, which is also one of its shortcomings.
How to choose IPS screen?
Not all IPS screens are the best. IPS screen panels are also good or bad. There are four main types: AH-IPS, E-IPS, S-IPS, H-IPS, and P-IPS.
In the field of displays, the most used displays at around RMB 1,000 are the worst E-IPS, which is the castrated IPS panel, and the color is slightly better than TN. AH-IPS is a new concept that can be equated to the worst E-IPS. It is basically the same. According to many official statements, AH-IPS is slightly better than E-IPS, but it is actually the same.
Simply put, we can understand it like this: P-IPS >H-IPS> S-IPS> E-IPS, while H-IPS is a high-end product. The price is relatively expensive, while S-IPS performs very well in all aspects. Not bad, the price is relatively moderate, it is recommended to choose.
