Choice of outdoor display: How to choose between LCD and LED part one

LCDs mainly include TFT, UFB, TFD, STN and other types of liquid crystal displays. The liquid crystal itself cannot emit light. The main light source comes from the backlight transmission, which makes the screen emit light and display the screen content. The brightness of an ordinary COG LCD display is generally 500cd/㎡, the brightness of the visual screen under outdoor sunlight needs to be 2000cd/㎡, so the brightness of the LCD screen used outdoors is the most basic requirement.

The light source of the LED screen is composed of many small light-emitting diode modules. One or more single lights of different colors can be used to form a basic pixel, so the brightness is relatively high, and many are used in outdoor displays.

The general size of LCD is small and medium, and it is difficult to achieve seamless splicing due to large area requirements. LED display screens can be extended arbitrarily and can be seamlessly spliced. However, high brightness and high color brilliance have also led to excessive light pollution from LED screens. Currently, my country has relevant regulations on glass curtain walls in white light pollution, and there should also be relevant regulations on artificial daylight and colored light pollution. Therefore, there will be restrictions on the market in the future. After all, it is harmful to human eyes.
